Off the Wall: Street Art beyond the Streets

PHILIPPINES, AUGUST 10, 2010 – Kalye Kultura present Off the Wall: Street Art beyond the Streets, an exhibit in collaboration with recent Wall Lords champion Pilipinas Street Plan (PSP). Off the Wall invades De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde’s Ampitheater, showcasing a mural and artworks representing street artists’ views and opinions under the new administration. Included in the exhibit is a photo documentation of artworks, forms of street art and talks/forums about the history and current situation of street art in the Philippines. 
 
One form of street art involves colors, graphics and designs that will surely change the atmosphere of the modern architectural design school of College of Saint Benilde. The week-long exhibit, curated and organized by the fourth year students of Arts Management, were unveiled on August 9, 2010.
 
Pilipinas Street Plan (PSP) is a group of Filipino Artists with backgrounds in the fine arts. They express their passion through street art and graffiti with a common goal of bringing art into the public. One of their prominent works is a wall mural in the opening line of Bandila, a news program of ABS-CBN.
 
Lectures and workshops will run daily from August 11 to 13 at 3 to 5PM:
 
Aug 11 (Wed) – Streets and Beyond (Street Art and Urban Culture)
Aug 12 (Thur) – Creative Process on the Street
Aug 13 (Fri) – Workshop (Stencil Making)
