MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA – Australian SPF Brand, SLATHER, has followed up its face melting 2025 debut with a skin peeling successor via its brainchild, Melbourne independent, SICKDOGWOLFMAN and Haven’t You Done Well.
SLATHER is a locally inspired, made, and owned SPF 50+ brand, created by SICKDOGWOLFMAN that recently celebrated 12 months in the market. In a sun-loving country that sadly sits at number one in the world for skin cancer, the brand launched with the uniquely original positioning of ‘the sun’ as a characterised villain that’s actually out to get you.
In the latest campaign, created again with Haven’t You Done Well’s director duo, Will Suen and Sej Im, the brand sticks a skewer into the beloved ‘Aussie infomercial’ starring a host of local comedy talent in Ben Russell, Matt Jenner, Josh Garlepp, James Collopy, Honor Wolff and Aaron Zhou. Jenner drew the short straw as the hero talent for the spot, ending up with a gruesomely peeled back courtesy of the geniuses at Sharp FX. Production Alley again helped out with sound, and Moodlab with grade.

“We launched SLATHER with a more cinematic piece that really established ‘the sun’ character and ‘the sun is not your friend’ positioning. This time around, we wanted to shift more attention on the product itself (look at us being clients) and given this is a brand that does nothing by half measures, we thought we’d make a good old Aussie infomercial. Just with the sun BBQing a man on a spit. As you do.”
