XPENG, YDM Thailand shift car safety from machine to human with THE PINK CODE

She knows the feeling. Most women do.
The parking lot is dim. The street is quiet. She can see her car — but she can’t see what’s around it. Those few seconds between walking toward the vehicle and opening the door are some of the most uncertain of any journey.
Not because something is necessarily wrong.
But because she can’t tell.

This is the moment most vehicle safety systems overlook.

On International Women’s Day, 8 March 2026, XPENG Thailand — in collaboration with YDM Thailand — introduced THE PINK CODE: a simple 8-digit code that activates a new pre-entry safety behavior, designed to help drivers check their surroundings before getting into the car.

And it asked a question no car has asked before: Is this moment safe for you?

A new behavior, not a new feature

Teaching the Car Something It Has Never Done Before

Every car safety system has been designed for a different problem. They protect the machine — monitoring for damage, recording incidents, or alerting owners after something has already happened.
None of them were designed for this moment.

THE PINK CODE changed that.

It is not a setting. Not a shortcut. Not a repackaging of existing features.

Working directly with XPENG’s engineering team, YDM Thailand designed a completely new vehicle behavior — one that responds to the driver before they enter the car. Built using XPENG’s programmable vehicle platform, this behavior allows the car to actively check its surroundings at the exact moment of approach.

The result is the first time a vehicle was programmed to respond not to a threat to itself — but to a human’s moment of vulnerability.

No new hardware. No vehicle modification. Just a new capability — unlocked through eight digits.

How it works

A Car That Looks Out for You First

Once THE PINK CODE is activated through the XPENG mobile app, the vehicle becomes an active safety companion as the driver approaches with their phone or key:

  1. Eyes on — Vehicle lights automatically illuminate the surrounding area, eliminating blind spots.
  2. Monitoring — Sensors and cameras detect unusual movement nearby in real time.
  3. Alert system — If something suspicious is detected, the car triggers honking and rapid light signals.
  4. Real-time updates — The driver receives notifications through the XPENG app before taking another step.

If something feels wrong, she can pause. Step back. Wait. Or approach with someone else.

While no system can guarantee complete safety, THE PINK CODE provided something vehicles had never offered at this moment: awareness before the door is even opened.

The shift

From Protecting the Car → To Protecting the Person

Protecting the vehicle → Protecting the person approaching it
Reacting after an incident → Acting before the door is opened
“Is the car safe?” → “Is this moment safe for you?”

This shift — from machine-centric to human-centric safety — redefines what vehicle intelligence should exist for.

The technology

How XPENG Made It Possible

THE PINK CODE is built using two core systems within XPENG’s intelligent vehicle ecosystem:

XCOMBO — XPENG’s programmable automation platform, enabling entirely new vehicle behaviors to be created and triggered based on real-world situations. Think of it as the operating system that lets the car learn new instincts.

XGUARD — XPENG’s intelligent security system, powering the perimeter monitoring, motion detection, and alert responses that THE PINK CODE activates at the moment of approach.

YDM Thailand worked with XPENG’s engineering team not to configure existing features — but to design a new safety scenario, defining how the vehicle should behave in this specific moment.

The result is a new application of software-defined mobility — transforming existing technology into a new form of protection.

The code

One Code. Shared Across a Community.

At the center of THE PINK CODE is simplicity.
Any XPENG owner can activate the same safety behavior by entering:

7495 0028

By making the code shareable, XPENG transformed a single engineered behavior into something larger: a shared safety standard across the entire XPENG community.

One code. Every owner. One new standard.

Brand Statement

A New Standard. On the Right Day.

THE PINK CODE launched on 8 March 2026, International Women’s Day — reflecting XPENG’s belief that the next generation of intelligent vehicles should do more than transport people. They should understand the moments people live in.

“For the women who move the world, we move the safety standard for you.”

With THE PINK CODE, XPENG demonstrated that software-defined vehicles are not just about performance or convenience — but about protecting people when it matters most.

Activation

How to Activate THE PINK CODE

  1. Open the XPENG app → My XPENG
  2. Scroll down → Select XCOMBO
  3. Tap the Search icon → Enter 7495 0028
  4. Tap “+” to add THE PINK CODE

Once activated, the safety behavior automatically runs every time the driver approaches the vehicle.
