Everest Base Camp, Mussoorie & Tonic Worldwide win Kyoorius Design Award for brand design

MUMBAI, INDIA – Everest Base Camp, a luxury glamping resort nestled in Mussoorie, has been honoured with a baby Elephant at the 2025 Kyoorius Design Awards, in collaboration with Tonic Worldwide. The recognition comes for the resort’s innovative ‘Mapped & Served’ tableware collection, an innovative brand design project that re-imagines heritage as a core pillar of hospitality storytelling.

The award-winning ‘Mapped & Served’ tableware collection was designed to narrate the story of how the world’s highest peak got its name. Conceptualized and executed by design partner: Tonic Worldwide, the collection integrates history into everyday guest touchpoints, ensuring that heritage is not just spoken about but experienced. By embedding cultural narratives into the brand’s physical environment, Everest Base Camp sets a new benchmark for how hospitality brands can use design to create deeper consumer connections.

Located at the historic foothills of Sir George Everest’s peak, the original site of India’s Great Trigonometrical Survey – Everest Base Camp has pioneered ‘living heritage hospitality’.

“Everyone who hears about it thinks about the climb, but we are the keepers of the real peak story,” said Jai Mittal, Owner of Everest Base Camp, Mussoorie. “Tonic Worldwide has played a pivotal role in bringing alive this story through seamless integration of design and narrative, embedding history into a functional dining experience and transporting our guests to a bygone era. We are delighted with our blockbuster win at KDA’25 and can’t wait to reveal what’s coming up next.”

Chetan Asher, Founder & CEO, Tonic Worldwide said, “We are great believers in the power of original design craft, and this was one such unique story which couldn’t have been told through some static display or a coffee table book. The ‘Mapped & Served’ tableware collection transforms a routine dining experience into a guided tour of Everest’s surveying legacy, with every bite and sip. It’s a conversation-starter, story-teller and memory maker put together as one. The win at KDA’25 awards strengthens our resolve to put EBC’s narrative at the global stage.”
