RTL Group collaborates with CBS Studios International to expand in Southeast Asia

GLOBAL – LUXEMBOURG, AUGUST 21, 2013 – European entertainment network RTL Group has teamed up with CBS Studios International to launch two thematic channels targeting the South East Asian markets.

The joint venture, RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network, will be based in Singapore, reporting to board of directors represented by both companies’ executives and subject to local regulatory approval. The network will have access to first-run shows and library titles from RTL Group’s content arm, FremantleMedia, and from CBS.

The first channel, RTL CBS Entertainment,will be launched next month featuring RTL Group’s general entertainment shows such asThe X Factor, America’s Got Talent and Celebrity Apprenticealongside CBS’s Elementary, Under the Dome, Late Show with David Letterman and Entertainment Tonight.

Action-adventure and extreme sports channel RTL CBS Extreme will rollout in spring next year with a lineup of shows consisting ofFear Factor, Red Bull, NCIS: Los Angeles and Hawaii Five-0.

RTL CBS Entertainment and Extreme will air in English and local languages, and available high definition. Both channels will be distributed via cable, satellite and Internet television in 29 Asian markets, including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
