Promoting causes through Pinoy artistry at Visuals with Vision II

PHILIPPINES, SEPTEMBER 13, 2010 – On its second year, Visuals with Vision (VWV) by YOCard again served as a platform for Filipino artistry and pride through a design competition and exhibit. These Pinoy-inspired postcard artworks were displayed from September 9 to 12 at the 3rd floor of Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Mandaluyong City.

This year, over 200 amateur designers, students and photography enthusiasts came up with visual executions, in more ways than one reflecting the themes: Artists Supporting Artists, Artists Supporting the Nation for the Outlooke Pointe Foundation, Pinoy Pride in Action for website One Tama and Ipagyabang na Ikaw ay Pilipino for Yabang Pinoy.

Efren Peňaflorida, 2009 CNN’s Hero of the Year led the panel of judges; along with Inksurge, local design duo whose works have been exhibited from Singapore to Spain, The Ideals Creatives team, a youth-led social enterprise whose brainchild Oneline.ph was used as a platform for the submission of entries and other organizations advocating Filipino ideals.

Each winner received Php 20,000 worth of prizes from Chilline Attitude (overnight stay at T Resort, Tagaytay), Pilak-Pilipinas Collection designed by Brian Tenorio for Filigrenasia The Silver Gallery and cameras from Lomography Embassy Manila.

YOCard will also print the winning entry per category, which will serve as a campaign for the advocacy beneficiaries. The cards will be available in 200 outlets starting October 2010.

Aside from the major winners, special awards were given to entries which reflect the sponsor-partners’ value for excellence and ingenuity. Epson’s choice awards went to Drexler John Cruz while Filigrenasia’s choice went to Egon Layson.
