JWT Bangkok announces major creative appointments

ASIA-PACIFIC — FEBRUARY 28, 2011— JWT Bangkok has announced a key promotion and new hire within the agency’s creative management team.

Satit Jantawiwat, a five year creative veteran of JWT Bangkok has been promoted to Executive Creative Director. During his stint, Satit has successfully boosted the agency’s creative portfolio with award-winning work for clients such as Oriental Princess, Cadbury Adams, Panasonic, Ford and Kimberly-Clark.

“I am very happy that we are able to promote Satit from within as he truly understands our vision and culture,” stated Pinit Chantaprateep, Chief Creative Officer, JWT Bangkok. “His work has built trust amongst our clients; they know what he is capable of and they support his ambition to deliver great work across different channels.”

“We have a diverse pool of creative talent in advertising, digital, design and activation and they all work together as a one-stop creative powerhouse under Satit’s leadership,” he added.

To boost its digital offering, the agency has brought in Ekalak "Neng" Voranartpankul to the role of Digital Creative Director. Ekalak joins JWT from Adaptor, the digital arm of Matchbox, where he worked across several categories and was responsible for creating award-winning work for Lays and Pepsi. In his new role, Ekalak will report to Satit and work closely with the other creative teams in JWT Bangkok.

Satit said: “I am very excited about the opportunity to push for more outstanding integrated work. Like our clients and their consumers, the creative landscape is in an ongoing state of change; everyone today is a writer and an art director. It is both frightening and energizing at the same time. We are happy to have Neng on board as he is very aware of what’s going on in the digital realm and not afraid to experiment with new ideas.”

On his joining, Ekalak stated: “JWT has a strong client roster that presents a wealth of digital opportunities. The work they are creating for Oriental Princess is very cool and proof again that having a good idea is a pre-requisite to entertain consumers on-line. There continues to be a lot of hype surrounding digital, but it’s really about knowing the clients brand well and the ability to come up with an exciting idea. I am attracted to JWT’s approach to planning and the fusion of creative ideas—it feels like a good match.”

Commenting on the enhanced creative management team, Bob Hekkelman, JWT Bangkok Group Managing Director, said, “Satit is one of the rare ECD’s I know who enjoys working on a digital piece just as much as working in traditional territory. Having the right mix of talent and seamless integration of digital ideas in our work is our key priority, every day.”

Both appointments are effective immediately.
