BBH Asia Pacific launches social gaming publisher Chuck Studios

ASIA-PACIFIC – SINGAPORE, FEBRUARY 17, 2012 – BBH Asia Pacific, the global agency of record for Chupa Chups since 2008, has recently launched social gaming publisher Chuck Studios, in partnership with Perfetti Van Melle, the brand owner of the world-famous lollipops.

Chuck Studios presents a unique model: in exchange for revenue shares, the publisher provides game developers with seed funding and the use of the Chupa Chups’ IP, and therefore access to a global online fan community and marketing support. The model creates mutual incentive for developers to produce quality games, and for Chuck Studios to operate and monetize these games over time.

“If you want best in class gaming, engage companies that are best in class. However, this can be prohibitively expensive if the relationship is only one-way. The Chuck Studios model makes the relationships mutually beneficial and rewards performance in market,” said John Hadfield, CEO, BBH Asia Pacific.

Meanwhile, Corrado Bianchi, international marketing director of Perfetti Van Melle, said that the company felt that BBH’s partnership model was a perfect match for their long-term plans. “It facilitates relevant brand engagement while at the same time it’s a groundbreaking way for us to leverage our IP in partnership with BBH.
Through Chuck Studios social games, Chuck’s fans will have the opportunity to live the Life Less Serious philosophy”.

BBH Asia Pacific gave birth to the Chuck character as part of the ‘Life Less Serious’ brand campaign. Chuck has since gained iconic recognition, with a global online (social) footprint of millions of engaged fans.

The game “Chupa Chucker”, developed in partnership with UK & Argentina-based social game developer Atommica, has already been launched in Facebook, and a second game is already under development.
