AD STARS extend deadline of entries until May 31

BUSAN – The AD STARS Organizing Committee publicly announced that it would extend the entry deadline for the 2015 AD STARS to May 31st, Sunday.

“More and more culturally diverse works based on creative ideas are entered as boosts the prestige of AD STARS is boosted by, in particular, its results being used in ranking systems of global significance, which, combined with a torrent of requests from advertising professionals who wish to enter their works at the last minute, practically forced us to extend the deadline,” said co-chairman of the Executive Committee, Hwan-Jin Choi. “This extension is expected to trigger more creative ideas to be introduced on the global stage in a number of areas.”

The only international advertising festival in Korea and a convergence event having both on-line and off-line, AD STARS 2015 will be held at Bexco and other locations in Busan from this coming August 21-23. AD STARS sets itself apart from other international advertising festivals in that non-advertising professionals are also given the opportunity to enter their works and visit events. It is also noted for its attention to the right effects of ads in serving public interest and its focus on quality public service ads.

With 20,000 US dollars of prize money up for grabs, entries are classified into a total of twenty two categories: five new video categories such as Branded Information Videos, Branded Entertainment Videos, Branded Viral Videos, Campaign Videos and Non-Branded Videos, as well as seventeen advertisement categories, including Public Service, Film, Print and Outdoor Ads. Entry submission is available on the AD STARS website at www.adstars.org.

In the meantime, the AD STARS Organizing Committee has been paying particular attention to the selection of its judging panels, primarily to enhance its prestige in the global advertising scene. The selection of more than 230 judges from 61 countries is nearing its end, including a number of leading figures such as Jean-Remi von Matt, the reputedly most creative professional in Europe, Matt Eastwood, who is also included in the panel for Cannes Lions 2015, and Jose Miguel Sokoloff, the only South American advertising professional to win a D&AD Black Pencil award. The entire lineup of judges will be unveiled in this coming June.
