GLOBAL – UNITED STATES, MAY 7, 2013 At this year’s just-concluded One Show Design Awards, the prestigious competition celebrating top design worldwide, TBWA\SMP has garnered a coveted Silver Pencil in the Spatial Design/Outdoor Spaces category for Project EDSA.
Project EDSA is a collaborative effort between TBWA\SMP and Pacific Paint (Boysen) Philippines on the company’s innovative KNOxOUT line of pollution-destroying paint. It comprises a series of murals crafted by highly regarded artists on the Epifanio de los Santos or EDSA highway in Manila, a major thoroughfare long derided for the poor quality of the air along its expanse. The campaign has helped TBWA\SMP win many other awards prior to this year’s Silver Pencil, including the Grand Prix for the 2012 Disruption Awards.
Project EDSA joins 27 other Silver Pencil winners, 25 Gold Pencil winners, 25 Bronze Pencil winners and 197 Merit winners at this year’s One Show Design Awards. Leo Burnett/Chicago’s Recipeace, for Peace One Day in the Design for the Greater Good Category, is this year’s Best of Show.
