Manila marks Holy Week weekend with Binondo Day and Kalye Escolta celebrations

The two-day celebration will transform Binondo and Escolta into vibrant cultural spaces, offering festive activities for families, friends, and city explorers.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The City of Manila invites residents and visitors to rediscover two of its most historic districts as Binondo Day and Kalye Escolta take over the streets on March 28 and 29, 2026, bringing together culture, food, heritage, and women-led creativity in the heart of the city.

Organized with support from the Department of Tourism, Culture, and the Arts of Manila (DTCAM) and community partners, the two-day celebration will transform Binondo and Escolta into vibrant cultural spaces, offering festive activities for families, friends, and city explorers spending the Holy Week weekend in Metro Manila.

The festivities begin with Binondo Day on March 28 and 29, honoring the rich heritage of the world’s oldest Chinatown through cultural activities, street discoveries, and local flavors that continue to make Binondo one of Manila’s most beloved districts.

On March 29, Escolta will join the celebration with Kalye Escolta: Women’s Month Arts Market, transforming Escolta Street into a pedestrian marketplace featuring women-led creativity, independent brands, and Manila’s growing creative community.

Visitors can expect a lively mix of heritage experiences, food discoveries, creative markets, and cultural programming, offering a refreshing way to experience the city during the long weekend.
