A new look for STAR World, Asia’s number one general entertainment channel

ASIA-PACIFIC, NOVEMBER 10, 2010 – FOX International Channels (FIC) today announced a major product enhancement for STAR World, Asia’s number one general entertainment channel, to further consolidate the international network’s general entertainment category. The stylish repackaging, which will be launched tomorrow, is designed to target affluent adults 18 to 44 and go along with its smart programming.

Star World has strategic agreements with leading studios such as Shine International, FremantleMedia, CBS, NBC, and 20th Century Fox, ensuring its delivery of exclusive first-run programming to Asia well ahead of terrestrial channels.  The programming offers a diverse choice of comedies, drama, reality & talent shows, and live award events.

Among other exclusive content, STAR World will feature live broadcasts of world-acclaimed TV events, like the American Music Awards, Golden Globes and Miss Universe. It will also exclusively broadcast such high-rated reality & talent shows as America’s Next Top Model, American Idol, MasterChef, Bachelorette, and Got to Dance. STAR World will also premiere a number of popular and top-rated US series in Asia, including Glee 2, Cougar Town and How I Met Your Mother.

Launched in 1997, STAR WORLD is currently available in 26 million homes across four services in India/Pakistan, Southeast Asia/Greater China, the Philippines and the Middle East.
