Manila Design Week: Future Designs, Youth Sign Up!

They heard, they made, they submitted.  About a hundred graphic designs created by students they took their rightful place on exhibit at the Glorietta 5 atrium as part of Manila Design Week. Participating design schools from the Metro submitted the finest samples from their crop of young talents, and as a result, an array of colorful images and screaming text allow a glimpse of the future of Philippine design.

Opening the night’s exhibit, Flashmob by Wee Will Doodle called for attendees to bring white shirts for them to, well, doodle their thing.  In a flash, they were mobbed.  There is no other way to describe the pandemonium.

Of the young breed of graphic artists and their mettle, from a demanding and competitive industry, “Not bad” might be a conservative observation.  Well, at least they are prolific and quick. Runner-up Paolo Roa revealed it took only three hours for him to complete his work, from concept to final art.  The youth come armed with the right stuff.  With that, the future brims with promise.
