From The Jackson 5, his explosive solo music career, to his life beyond the music, take a peek at one extraordinary life in Michael. Taking up the mantle of Michael Jackson is his nephew, Jaafar Jackson, in his film debut. Michael is directed by Antoine Fuqua, the award-winning filmmaker of Training Day, Olympus Has Fallen and The Equalizer franchise. The film also stars Nia Long, Laura Harrier, Juliano Krue, Miles Teller, and Colman Domingo.

Michael will follow The King of Pop’s life from discovering his talent as a performer as the lead of The Jackson 5, to some of the most iconic performances during his early solo career. “Michael. His life is epic. To become the King of Pop, it’s an amazing journey,” shares director Fuqua.
They didn’t have to look too far in their search of who can carry such an important role, as they saw the potential within Jaafar Jackson. “Day one. All I can think of is, ‘can Jaafar really pull this off?’ Man when the music started, and he hit those first few moves, I mean this guy killed it,” Fuqua says.
“I never dreamed to be an actor or even thought of playing him, but I knew it was a calling,” says Jaafar Jackson. “Embodying Michael, I really had to earn the role and prove to the filmmakers that I was capable of becoming Michael,” he continues. Jaafar proved that beyond a doubt he was the one, and producer Graham King was more than impressed. “He took it to a level that none of us saw he could take it to,” says King.
