22nd Philippine Ad Congress: There’s room for everyone in CamSur

PHILIPPINES, MAY 2011 – Around 3,000 delegates are expected to attend the 22nd Philippine Advertising Congress (PAC) at the CamSur Watersports Complex (CWC) in Pili, Camarines Sur on November 16 to 19, 2011. This is the first time the Ad Congress will be held in CamSur, the country’s number one tourist destination according to the latest figures of the Department of Tourism.

Regarded as a breakthrough choice, the venue is in line with the 22nd PAC’s theme, “Change the Game”, as it is one of the most inspiring success stories in local governance in recent times. By establishing a niche in water sports tourism and investing in the facilities and infrastructure required to maintain a tourist destination, the province highlighted itself on the country’s map.

“Change the Game” is also a call to the advertising industry to embark on a similar path – by breaking through old habits and creating opportunities out of the unprecedented challenges confronting the industry today.

This year is expected to be the most active ad congress, as the CWC is renowned for watersports. CamSur has hosted various high profile events such as the Cobra Energy Drink Ironman 70.3 Philippines triathlon, the annual Summit Water CamSur Marathon and the international Ultimate Wake Championship.

Tiki huts, wood cabins and containers – a few of CWC’s accommodation types

The CWC resort itself can accommodate 1,150 people within the six types of Villa del Rey lodgings, which include the new dwell homes, tiki huts, wood cabins, cabanas, converted containers and villas. Also within the complex are the Mansion Suites and the Ecovillage. Accommodations inside the CWC where all 22nd PAC activities will take place should fill up fast, and therefore early registration is a must.

This year, there will be online registration for the Ad Congress, as well as for accommodation. The system will be launched this month through the efforts of the 22nd PAC administration committee. All accommodation within half an hour of the CWC has been reserved for the Ad Congress and only bookings can be made through the online registration system.

“We appeal to all delegates to book with us and not directly with the hotels and we encourage them to sign up as early as possible to secure their desired accommodation,” says administration committee chair Blen Fernando.

Avenue Plaza Hotel

Nearby Naga City is ready to accommodate participants for the 22nd PAC as well. The Avenue Plaza Hotel is the best choice for delegates looking for luxury accommodations in Naga. Reviews in TripAdvisor describe the hotel as “clean and classy”, “Naga’s secret treasure” and “Bicolano excellence”. Villa Caceres Hotel promises guests authentic Bicolano hospitality. Rooms are designed and furnished with an old world flair, yet the accommodations and facilities are no less modern or comfortable. The Starview Hotel, Regent Hotel and CBD Plaza Hotel cater to business travelers.

As most of Naga City’s hotels have been newly renovated or refurbished, delegates will be among the first to enjoy the enhanced facilities.

Transportation units will be on standby round-the-clock to shuttle participants between their hotels and the CWC or around CamSur. The local government is also organizing tighter security for the safety of the delegates. Further preparations by the organizing committees and the provincial government are underway.

With more than enough rooms to house all who wish to participate in the Ad Congress, delegates are assured of new experiences and discoveries this year in CamSur.
