28th Singapore International Film Festival Red Carpet Special Presentation: The Song of Scorpions

SINGAPORE – The Song of Scorpions director Anup Singh and actress Waheeda Rehman lit up the red carpet at the film’s Singapore premiere at Marina Bay Sands Grand Theatre earlier tonight as part of the 28th Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF). They were also joined by Japanese actor-turned-director, Takumi Saitoh, Japanese actress Misuzu Kanno, and veteran singer Rahimah Rahim on the red carpet.

Singh’s third feature film, The Song of Scorpions, is a twisted tale of love between a camel trader and a mystical singer, played out amidst the breath-taking scenery in the deserts. A visual spectacle in itself, the film mesmerises with its blend of mythology, folk legend and the fervour of love, revenge and loss. It is also one of three Special Presentation films at the 28th SGIFF.

The Festival is a champion of film talent and cinema of the region, and runs from 23 November to 3 December 2017, across various venues, including Marina Bay Sands, Shaw Theatres Lido, National Museum of Singapore, National Gallery Singapore, The Arts House, Filmgarde Bugis+, Objectifs and *SCAPE.

The SGIFF is an event of the Singapore Media Festival, hosted by Info-communications Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA).
