5 teams vie for the Young Lotus 2015 award

PATTAYA — The five finalists from the 13 teams that attended the Young Lotus Creative Workshop have presented their ideas to this year’s host, Dentsu Aegis Network. The presentation was lead by Young Lotus committee co-chair, Regional Chief Creative Officer of Dentsu Aegis, Ted Lim.

The workshop, held on March 16-18, centered around the theme of ‘Badass Innovation,” combining Dentsu Aegis Network’s vision of ‘innovating the way brands are built’ and mother company Dentsu Inc.’s mantra of ‘good innovation’, in line with the overall festival theme ‘Be Bad’.

The young creatives were given ‘The Dream Brief’ on March 17. They were asked to come up with a digital campaign to get their dream job, and work for their dream ECD and dream agency for only 24 hours. The people who made this brief, joked Chairman Ted Lim, were too nice, “you don’t get that kind of brief in real life.”

The winners will be announced today, March 20 at the awards presentation. The team with the most number of votes from the delegates here in ADFEST will also be awarded the Young Lotus Popular Vote.

When asked what they were looking for in these young creatives’ ideas, he need not go too far away from this year’s Young Lotus theme: “Fresh Blood”, Ted says they are looking for something fresh and with a new perspective.

The Young Lotus aims to support and stimulate new creative young bloods in the region and give them the chance to work and learn from the best creative practitioners in the industry.
