CapitaLand and Nat Geo bring back “Building People” photo competition

ASIA-PACIFIC – APRIL 4, 2011 – CapitaLand, one of Asia’s largest real estate companies, and National Geographic Channel announced the return of the highly successful CapitaLand “Building People” Photography Competition, which drew 600 entries last year. The competition challenges amateur photographers to capture breathtaking images of people’s interactions with CapitaLand buildings.

From April to May 2011, entrants can submit an original photograph with a caption to the CapitaLand “Building People” Photography Competition website. The photograph must feature a CapitaLand building, and reveal how it interacts with the people living, working or shopping there. Participants will be invited to an exclusive CapitaLand “Building People” Photography Seminar by Catherine Karnow (in photo).

A judging panel comprising renowned National Geographic photographer Catherine Karnow and executives from National Geographic Channel and CapitaLand will evaluate entries on aesthetics, originality and the extent to which the “Building People” theme is captured. The judges will also be looking out for entries which creatively portray the way CapitaLand buildings enhance the landscape and how people interact with the buildings every day.

Three winners will be chosen by the judging panel, together with one additional winner selected from a special public online voting opportunity that launches on the competition website from June onwards. All four winners will join Catherine Karnow on an exclusive CapitaLand photography trail in Singapore in August 2011.
