Clio Fashion & Beauty to honor Grace Coddington with Lifetime Achievement Award

NEW YORK CITY – The Clio Awards, the esteemed international advertising, design and communications competition, today announced Grace Coddington, Vogue America’s creative director-at-large, as the 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient for Clio Fashion & Beauty, which honors creative excellence in the business of style. Coddington will receive her award at the 58th annual Clio Awards set for September 27 at The Tent at Lincoln Center in New York City.

 “Grace Coddington’s hard work, dedication, and imagination within her career has made her name synonymous with fashion,” said Clio President Nicole Purcell. “When selecting our Lifetime Achievement recipients each year, our goal is always to acknowledge someone who has devoted their life to furthering the creative advancement of this industry. After working in fashion for more than half a century, with no sign of stopping, Grace couldn’t be more deserving of this honor.”
 
Coddington, who started in fashion as a model in the late 1950’s, will be honored for her 55+ years of achievements, dedication and creative contributions to the industry. During her years as Vogue America’s creative director, Coddington released a fragrance and several books, including her New York Times bestselling autobiography Grace: A Memoir. Since transitioning to her role at Vogue America to creative director-at-large, Coddington has partnered with a number of brands on advertisements and campaigns from Tiffany & Co. to Calvin Klein, and is currently working on an animated feature film based on her book The Catwalk.
