DDB brings Adrian An back to Korea as ECD

ASIA-PACIFIC – MAY 2011 – Internationally awarded creative Adrian An has been appointed by DDB Group Korea as Executive Creative Director.

Born in Korea, An has enjoyed a career that spans four continents. He comes to DDB with a breadth of experience from across industries including publishing, food and beverage, alcohol, consumer electronics, FMCG. Clients include Samsung, Philips, McDonald’s, Singapore Tourism Board, National Geographic, Lipton and even Marvel Underwear.

An has worked at other leading global agencies including JWT, Y&R, D’arcy and Cheil. In his  career spanning 20 years, he has been recognized at literally every major international award show including One Show, Cannes, Clio International, Dubai Lynx Awards, New York Festival, AdFest, and LIA.

“I left Korea 30 years ago when I was still a child. Coming back it’s dawned on me that I have spent many years around the world to come home. This is an exciting time to be in Korea, at an agency that has not yet shown its full potential — that’s a challenge that I am willing to take on,” said An.

“With Adrian leading our creative teams, I believe we now have a real opportunity to build DDB Group Korea’s creative reputation and grow our international client base which already includes Philips, Tourism Australia, and PepsiCo,” said Douglas Faudet, vice chairman of DDB Group Asia.

Ted Kim, President and CEO of DDB Group Korea, said: “We are very proud to have someone with Adrian’s creativity, experience and leadership join us. Korea is a complicated market with its own advertising style. Adrian’s international experience, as well as his family heritage, makes him best placed to build DDB’s credentials in Korea."
