Global Market Research Agency Ipsos bolsters presence in Southeast Asia

MANILA – To further serve people, markets, and society, global market research agency Ipsos boosts its presence in Southeast Asia and expands its operations further in the Philippines. The expansion is a move to help clients in Southeast Asia leverage their businesses through Ipsos’ market research expertise.

For the newly appointed CEO of Ipsos Southeast Asia, Suresh Ramalingam, his vision is growth for the company and their clients. “It is about growth–growth of our people, growth of our business, and growth of the industry. We would like to ensure that we provide the best insight that can help the marketer in various sectors–be it financial services, automotive, telecom, consumer packaged goods, retail, and so on. We want to provide the best insight to the clients so that they can provide the best offer to their customers”, Ramalingam remarked.

“The Philippines is a very important market within Southeast Asia for various reasons. One is the population of the Philippines. It is one of the largest populations and growing. Two, it is a predominantly English-speaking population, so it is easier to do business from that point of view. Number three, we have a lot of new initiatives we are launching in Southeast Asia where we believe the Philippines can play a big role in terms of providing Ipsos a better kind of talent and innovation. My personal goal is to ensure that we grow local talents in each of the markets in Southeast Asia. And from that point of view, Philippines plays a big part. We are focusing on local talents to grow them and then they can contribute in Southeast Asia in a bigger way. That’s the kind of thing that we are aiming to do right now”, Ramalingam elaborated further.

Aligned with this strategy, Ipsos in the Philippines most recently announced the expansion of its offices in Manila. The main office of Ipsos in the Philippines has now relocated in Mandaluyong and simultaneously, a new branch office in the same city was opened solely dedicated for operations.

Managing Director for Ipsos Philippines, Marie Lee said: “This is a milestone for Ipsos in the Philippines. We always strive to deliver excellent service to our clients and to be more efficient in our operations. This expansion will positively impact us in our quest to better understand people, society, and markets.”

The expansion complements the global Ipsos strategy to be the largest market research provider. Recently, the Paris headquarters of Ipsos acquired four global divisions of the GfK Custom Research Business including Customer Experience, Experience Innovation, Health and Public Affairs involving 26 countries including Australia, as well as China, India, Japan and Singapore in the Asia Pacific region. In addition, Ipsos has exchanged contracts with mystery shopping business Market Pulse International (MPI) to acquire some of its staff, clients, and shopper panelists in Australia, New Zealand, and Thailand.

To date, Ipsos has been doing Market Research in the Philippines for a combined experience of 20 years since its acquisition of Synovate back in 2011. Aside from the Manila operations, the research agency also holds satellite offices in both Cebu and Davao.

The new Ipsos Philippines main office is now located at the 7th floor, Unit A, South Tower, Rockwell Business Center Sheridan, Sheridan cor. United Streets, Mandaluyong City.
