McCann Health garners 15 awards at IPA

ASIA-PACIFIC – SINGAPORE, JULY 7, 2012: McCann Health Worldwide has continued its winning streak picking up 21 awards in 12 categories at the IPA Best of Health Awards in London last week (Thursday 28th June), including the Best of Show Healthcare Professional by McCann Torre Lazur for ‘Another Busy Day’, Edarbi for Takeda, and the special prize for Local Innovation for McCann Sydney’s work for Janssen.  The agency was the most creatively awarded and recognized healthcare agency network in the world in 2011 for the second year in a row and looks set to continue this success in 2012.
 
McCann Health enjoyed particular success in Asia Pacific with the Sydney, Singapore and Beijing offices picking up an impressive 15 awards across eight categories, which in addition to the special prize includes two silvers for McCann Health Singapore’s ‘Deep Sea Hearts Campaign’ for Alice Hospital and Medical Center.
 
The ‘Shaping Futures’ campaign, which won the coveted Innovation award, was a successful launch for Janssen into the Australian market of Invega Sustenna, a drug developed for patients with schizophrenia to take control of their lives and shape their future. For the campaign, McCann Health built a plasticine world, bringing to life the drug’s ability to reshape lives.

The Sydney office won the following nine awards: Local Innovation Special Prize Category for ‘Shaping Futures’, Invega Sustenna for Janssen; bronze in Healthcare Professional, Press Campaign category: ‘Doodles’, Effexor XR for Pfizer; bronze in Healthcare Professional, Press Campaign category: ‘Confident Days’, Viagra for Pfizer; bronze in Healthcare Professional, Mixed Media Campaign category: ‘Sponge Toast’, Actonel  EC for Sanofi; bronze in Consumer, Individual Press category: ‘Toilet Roll’, Viagra Unbranded for Pfizer; bronze in Consumer Press, Individual Press category for  ‘Powerful Lashes – Riding Crop’, Allergan for Latisse; bronze in Consumer Press, Individual Press category for  ‘Powerful Lashes –Fishing Rod’, Allergan for Latisse; bronze in Consumer Press, Individual Press category for  ‘Powerful Lashes – Riding Sword’, Allergan for Latisse; and bronze in Healthcare Professional, Print Sales Material category: ‘Sponge Toast’, Actonel EC for Sanofi.
 
The Singapore office won the following five awards: silver in Consumer, Individual Press for ‘Deep Sea Hearts – Squid’, Hypertension Awareness for Alice Hospital and Medical Center; silver in Consumer, Individual Press for ‘Deep Sea Hearts – Angel’, Hypertension Awareness for Alice Hospital and Medical Center; silver in Consumer, Individual Press for ‘Deep Sea Hearts – Angler’, Hypertension Awareness for Alice Hospital and Medical Center; bronze in Consumer, Press Campaign for ‘Powerful Lashes’, Latisse for Allergan; and bronze in Consumer, Press Campaign for ‘Deep Sea Hearts’, Hypertension Awareness for Alice Hospital and Medical Center.
 
The Beijing office won a bronze in Healthcare Professional, Individual Press for ‘Prison’, Vesicare for Astellas.
 
This year’s IPA tally follows McCann Health’s success in the 2011 awards where the agency won 13 awards in 10 categories, including Best of Show Healthcare Professional by McCann Health Sydney.
 
Now in their 17th year, the IPA Best of Health Awards showcase the best creativity in the healthcare advertising sector across all media. This year’s awards attracted 406 entries from around the globe.
