Grey Group acquires majority stake in Seoul-based agency Vinyl-I Co

SINGAPORE – With a goal to provide their clients with the best innovations, Grey Group has acquired a majority stake in South Korea-based web/UX design agency turned full service digital advertising agency, Vinyl-I Co.

Vinyl-I Co is a 15-year-old company that boasts of a new media technology that recognises consumer behavior. Through interactive panels, the consumers are provided with a customized response based on their needs. Some of its clients include GS Shop, Intel, L’Oreal, Lotte, Microsoft, Naver, Nike, Samsung, SK Telecom and SM Entertainment, among many others.

The agency has received recognition from a number of festivals including Red Dot Award, International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA), International Forum Design Award (iF), the Korea Advertising Awards, and most notably the grand prize at the ‘2015 IDEA Digital Design’.

Vinyl-I Co was founded by Paul (Hong Rai) Cho, Chief Executive Officer & Executive Creative Director, who briefly worked for Samsung Design Lab. He was joined by Gil (Jung) Kim in 2011 as Chief Operating Officer. Kim has had a world of experience in accounts management after working for Samsung Electronics and Siemens where he spent 12 years of his career.
