LONDON – You heard that right. Londoners can now have a taste of the popular Chickenjoy as Jollibee Foods Corporation opens its first ever Jollibee Store in the United Kingdom (UK) last October 20 in Earls Court Road.  

As part of the fast-food giant’s expansion plans around the globe, the store opening truly brings the largest Asian restaurant company a step closer to its vision of becoming one of the top five restaurant companies in the world.

The London branch is the most recent among Jollibee’s international store openings set for this year and is the second Jollibee store in Europe. As expected, thousands of people trooped to the store, queue up to 18 hours, and braved the London chill just to get their hands on Jollibee’s sumptuous offerings.

“The store opening is an important event for our Company’s expansion journey. We chose Earls Court as the location of the first UK store as it is the home of the largest Filipino community in London. We are delighted to share Jollibee’s signature brand of great tasting food and friendly service to them,” said Ernesto Tanmantiong, Chief Executive Officer of JFC.

In March, Jollibee Milan also saw long lines gathered for hours during the opening day. JFC is also targeting to open 50 stores in five years in the whole of Europe, half of which is in the United Kingdom.

Jollibee fan favorites, including the world-famous crispylicious and juicylicious Chickenjoy, plus other classic meals such as Jolly Spaghetti with its signature sweet-style sauce, Yumburgers and other products will be offered on the menu.

“We want the Filipino community in London to experience ‘a taste of home’ when they dine and eat their favorite Jollibee dishes. We would also like the British people to experience the food and find out for themselves why people line up for hours and travel across countries to have a taste of Jollibee,” Tanmantiong added.  

Jollibee continues to expand their horizons in the global market, spreading the joy of eating not just to Filipino communities abroad but also to locals. Jollibee has succeeded winning in the taste and preference of markets such as Vietnam, Brunei, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

Also launching in the second half of the year is their first store in Manhattan (the second branch in New York). Jollibee is also expected to expand to Malaysia and open their first store in Kota Kinabalu soon. To date, there are more than 1,300 Jollibee brand stores globally.
