Newman will take up this new post in Singapore in August, having spent time in the McCann London office prior to that. Once in Asia he will report into Australasia & SEA Regional Managing Director Charles Cadell as well as to the group’s EVP Global Growth Officer Lotta Malm-Hallqvist.
Newman is moving to Singapore from the UK, where in his role as Commercial Director for Contagious he helped to set up offices in London & New York as well as establishing representation in Brussels, Sydney and Mumbai. Working with personnel from MRM, Momentum, McCann Erickson across the region I have every confidence that Richard’s extensive experience of the full marketing mix paired with his ‘hunter’ mentality will very quickly get results.”
Newman’s role will see him working closely with McCann Worldgroup’s Global Growth Team to ensure a systematic approach to business development, maximizing both creative output and ensuing revenue.
Speaking about his role, Newman said “This is a hugely exciting time both for myself and McCann Worldgroup. I am thrilled by the opportunity to come on board.  The sheer depth of talent and resource in the group is incomparable to anything I have ever experienced and so I look forward to joining a team that is set to go from strength to strength. Working for Charles Cadell was also an enormous hook for me, having followed his achievements across the region over the years.  The prospect of now being a part of his team is inspiring and I know that under his leadership I will remain highly motivated to achieve results.”
