ASIA-PACIFIC – SINGAPORE, JUNE 14, 2011 – McCann Worldgroup, has announced today that Richard Newman, Commercial Director of the UK-based industry magazine and consultancy Contagious Communications, is set to join McCann Worldgroup as Regional Growth Officer for South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Newman will take up this new post in Singapore in August, having spent time in the McCann London office prior to that. Once in Asia he will report into Australasia & SEA Regional Managing Director Charles Cadell as well as to the group’s EVP Global Growth Officer Lotta Malm-Hallqvist.
Newman is moving to Singapore from the UK, where in his role as Commercial Director for Contagious he helped to set up offices in London & New York as well as establishing representation in Brussels, Sydney and Mumbai. Through this Newman has gained a clear understanding of the future facing marketing landscape and in particular, the growing importance of digital.

Newman’s role will see him working closely with McCann Worldgroup’s Global Growth Team to ensure a systematic approach to business development, maximizing both creative output and ensuing revenue.
