The Frank Barton Company signs with The Sweet Shop

The Sweet Shop has added animation directorial collective The Frank Barton Company to their roster of talent.  A full service boutique, The Frank Barton Company is comprised of creatives from several different facets of the film, CG, VFX, and video game industries.  Working in unison, this team of highly charged artists has made a name for themselves by crafting leading-edge animated projects that push the form.

Founded in 2008, the original team was comprised of seven artists who aspired to craft dynamic, creatively fulfilling content that would allow them to develop their personal passions as part of a larger, unified whole.  The result is an innovative body of work that has been honored by such prestigious organizations as Cannes, El Sol, and FIAP.

“The Sweet Shop will open us up to a whole new world of opportunities,” says Chief Creative Officer Sergio Garcia of their decision to sign with The Sweet Shop.  Executive Creative Director Ursula Garcia adds, “There is so much we want to do and explore and The Sweet Shop will help us get there, which is very exciting.”

Based in Madrid, The Frank Barton Company has since grown to include twenty artists from a diverse range of visual departments. The team’s combined credits include work on such projects as “The Matrix: Reloaded”, “Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within”, “Che”, and Ridley Scott’s upcoming feature “Exodus: Gods and Kings”.  Together, these varied backgrounds have allowed them to create a wealth of fully realized worlds and characters for brands including ING, Sony, Fiat, Vodafone, and the now classic Vinamilk cows which have remained the face of the brand for the past four years and counting.

“We’re thrilled to have signed The Frank Barton Company for the region,” says Claire Davidson, Managing Director of the Sweet Shop Asia and Mena.  “The company already has a pristine reputation for animation work in these territories and we hope to expand this further across Asia and the Middle East.  Their clever, innovative and visionary work is world class”.

“The Frank Barton Company has an incredible track record,” says Paul Prince, The Sweet Shop’s CEO and Founding Partner.  “Their ability to craft fresh, new worlds for each and every client is evidence of their commitment to the form.  I look forward to many exciting new projects together.”

The Frank Barton Company’s signing is yet another example of The Sweet Shop’s ongoing commitment to expanding unique talent with skills spread across the industry.
