Fiera de Manila kicks off biggest imaging and publishing industry event

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, JUNE 6, 2012: Creative professionals, and printers and publishers will find not only a showcase of the latest trends and technologies, but also learning and networking opportunities as Fiera de Manila launches the 17th Graphic Expo, 3rd Photo-Video Expo, and the 9th Print Tech Manila on June 14-16 at the SMX Convention Center.

Together with the Philippine Center for Creative Imaging and the Philippine Technical Printing Foundation (PPTF), Fiera de Manila has pooled a line-up of more than 40 learning sessions for creative, marketing, and advertising professionals. With this alliance, the industry is giving birth to the biggest three-in-one imaging and printing exhibition in the Philippines, covering at total of  5,000 square meters of exhibit space for suppliers-buyers-industry professionals to network, socialize, and source for business ideas.

Photographers, videographers, graphic designers, layout artists, and printing and publishing businessmen will be treated to several exhibits of state-of-the art equipment, software, services, and total solutions in imaging, photography, and videography in the 3rd Photo-Video Expo. Internationally renowned professional photographer and bestselling author Bryan Peterson will also be holding a one-day photography seminar-workshop on June 16.

Zone V Camera Club, one of the oldest camera clubs in the country, will have a rare photo exhibition, with the theme “Trip the Light Fantastic”. Other photography exhibitors and presentors include the SPPP (Society of Portrait Photographers of the Philippines) SLR (Samahan ng Litratista ng Rizal) Camera Club, Framed Shots Camera Club, Chasing Lights Batch 11 Camera Club, BMSD (Bawal Magshot Dito) Camera Club, and Photo Journalists Club of the Philippines.

The 17th Graphic Expo 2012 will feature the  “Sampayan ng Bayan” t-shirt design contest. A brainchild of one of the country’s most noted graphic designers, Dopy Doplon of ArtOne Design, the competition aims to encourage and uplift the creativity of Filipino design. “The t-shirt revolution signals the strong market demand for shirts with very unique graphic design,” said Doplon.

The International Designers Network (IdN) will showcase their creative folio in the design gallery, while the Manila InDesign Users Group will use the venue to hold its general membership meeting.

Meanwhile, the 9th Print Tech Manila 2012, will feature publishing and printing in paper, packaging and plastics technologies, book binding and print finishing, paper and paper-converting products. It will also hold seminar series that will focus on state-of-the-art printing process, digital workflow, cost estimation, and technology-related topics.

The 17th Graphic Expo, 3rd Photo-Video Expo, and the 9th Print Tech Manila are supported by Adobo Magazine.
