The museum turned individual and radical last Tuesday night, at the launch of the Yahoo! Philippines Purple Hunt. The on- and offline treasure hunt goes live with its micro-site on June 2.
The project is Yahoo!’s answer to a very current marketing concern: how a pioneering internet brand creates relevance for itself amid the current social networking craze.
The Purple Hunt is the kickoff for the bigger Project Purple, described by Yahoo! as ‘a social movement … to help Filipinos Find, Share and Connect to the things that matter most to them.’ The initiative encourages Filipinos to speak up and be creative using Yahoo!’s various communities.
Granted, most ad industry people hardly need encouragement to express themselves. But if you crave sugar (there’ll be free purple-frosted donuts and ice cream during the Ayala Malls tours), love puzzles and covet some new purple gadgets, head to yahoo.com.ph and sign up for Purple Hunt alerts. See you at yahoo.com.ph on June 2! Go to Purple Hunt site.
