25th National Public Relations Congress: Prominent speakers tackle the issue of truth vs. trolls

MANILA – A distinguished lineup of speakers and subject matter experts leads this year’s 25th National Public Relations Congress organized by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) on September 27-28, 2018 with the theme “Truth or Trolls: PR in the Age of Disinformation.”

A first in Asia, keynote speaker José Manuel Velasco, chair of the Global Alliance of Public Relations and Communication Management (GA), presents the stand of global PR colleagues in both academe and business stated in World PR Congresses in different world capitals, on how to respond effectively to threats to their brands and companies in “PR Challenges in the Age of Disinformation.”  GA is a confederation of the world’s major PR and communication management associations and institutions representing 160,000 practitioners and academics around the world with headquarters in Lugano, Switzerland.

Stand up for national sovereignty while keeping communication lines open will be discussed in “Setting the News Right on the West Philippine Sea” by Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio. In “Ethics and Governance in PR and its Impact on Corporate Reputation,” Dr. Alfredo E. Pascual, CEO and fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), will lead delegates to understand what it takes to be the top PR and communication person by knowing what a CEO thinks of PR and how it can impact on corporate reputation and its viability.
