4th Philippine Tinta Awards call for entries

Extra! Extra! Read all about it! The toughest print show on Earth is back.

For all advertising and media agencies, advertisers, publications, digital agencies, and schools looking to take on the challenge, deadline of entries for the 4th Tinta Awards is on June 20, 2014, Friday.

Tinta Awards is the first Philippine press award-giving body geared toward recognizing excellence in print advertising. Its aim is to encourage creativity in print and to keep the spirit of print media alive in an increasingly digital terrain.

The 4th Tinta Awards has categories ranging from consumer and public service print advertising, interactive and integrated print campaign, special print media execution to online advertising campaign.

There is also a student category, which seeks to “attract new generation readers among the youth” through print media’s communication campaigns. The contest is open to all college students.

“I’ve always believed in creativity in advertising on print,” says four-time Tinta Awards overall chairman Angel Guerrero, editor-in-chief of print media’s multi-awarded adobo magazine, “I believe print will remain a strong and relevant medium of communications.”

For those up for the challenge, all entries must be an original and inspiring idea, relevant to its context, well executed, and entries must have been published or displayed for the first time between January 2013 to June 20, 2014. The entry forms are available at www.philippinetintaawards.com

The most prominent and respected movers and shakers in advertising and print media make up the 4th Tinta Awards jury. Leo Burnett Manila Group Chief Creative Officer Raoul S. Panes heads this year’s judging as jury president.

The jury also includes TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno Creative Director and Head of Design Manuel Villafania, BBDO Guerrero Executive Creative Director Dale Lopez, Ace Saatchi & Saatchi Chief Digital Officer Denise Tee, DM9JaymeSyfu / Digit Executive Creative Director Eugene Demata, McCann Worldgroup Deputy Executive and Creative Director Noel Bermejo, Carat Philippines Chief Executive Officer Boy Pangilinan, Omnicom Media Group Philippines President & CEO Nicanor Gabunada, Jr., Havas Media Ortega Chairman and CEO Jos Ortega, Starcom Mediavest Managing Director Joanna Mojica, MEC Managing Director Malu Vasallo, ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation Chief Digital Officer Donald Patrick Lim, and Smart Communications, Inc. “We look forward to celebrating the best the country has to offer in creativity,” says Guerrero. The awards night of the 4th Tinta Awards will be on July 10, 2014.

The Tinta Awards is spearheaded by the United Print Media Group, a progressive organization of print media and publication companies in the Philippines. It aims to “represent the interest and position of the print media industry in the Philippines with regards to business, social, and operational concerns.” UPMG currently has 33 active member-publications with over 120 titles.
