MANILA – The Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP) inducted its Board of Trustees at Kickstart Ventures, on 20 February 2020. Thirteen years on, the association continues is purpose of enabling businesses to transform through digital marketing, launching new projects, new partnerships, and revitalizing its flagship DigiCon.

This year, Dennis Perez, Media Director of Unilever Philippines & E-Commerce Media for SEAA returns as president, joined once again by Leigh Reyes, president and chief product officer of MullenLowe Philippines, and Digs Dimagiba, chief marketing officer, Metrobank, as vice president for internal and external, respectively, and Hans Eric Roxas Chua, president of Certified Digital Marketing, as treasurer. This year’s DigiCon post-digital theme was unveiled at the event. OMNI is about Digital no longer separating from anything people do. It is embedded in people’s vision, strategies, and daily execution. OMNI straddles multi-platform engagement where all activity is seamlessly digital. Where technology is the fabric of reality, and AI and machine-learning, user experience, and engaging the consumer of new intelligence are no longer new structures, but everyday realities.

While DigiCon is heralded heavily, beefing up its communications by drilling into its digital assets, Perez revealed IMMAP’s emergence as producer of the country’s first digital marketing podcast. “Podcasts are fast becoming the byword in reach. The segments will feature the latest digital news, in-depth discussion on digital trends and issues, digital campaign of the week, and its coffer of guest panelists. We’re excited to launch DigiPod, in partnership with Podcast Network Asia,” says Perez.

Have you, like scores before you, been scouring the net for Filipino-based studies and data? The wait is near. Launched at the event is Catalyst, a collective that will publish papers written for a Filipino audience, within the context of the Philippine digital landscape.

Explains Perez, “The goal is four papers a quarter—all backed by data—that will provide a that much needed Filipino perspective. We have tapped Google, Quiddity, Unilever, Nielsen for the expertise. And, we’ve entered into partnerships with the Analytics Association of the Philippines, and Data Driven Philippines.”

Adding to the excitement of 2020, Digs Dimagiba of the Advocacy committee announced the production of five more videos of the Dalir-Eskuela series continuing the association’s tripartite partnership with the DepEd and the Stairway Foundation. Advocacy will create a Foundation whose endeavors will focus on cyber-safety, data privacy, fake news, and anti-piracy.

IMMAP pushes for more connections outside the Metro this year with four GMMs slated for the South. The association held its first GMM in Cebu last year to very promising reviews. Doing an encore as well is a Youth Congress in Cebu for Vis-Min students. IMMAP’s YouthCon main coincides with the DigiCon.

The Education Committee’s Web Wednesdays webinar series enters Season 2 this year. Free, and open to the public, the series was a massive success last year. Check out the first webinar on April 1, and catch Neil Trinidad of Lazada, and Pam Garcia of Wunderman Thompson discuss: The E-Conomy and its new customers.

Bridging the knowledge gap in businesses and driving digital marketing excellence in the field of digital commerce for the country are reasons for the creation of the Digital Commerce Committee. DComm kickstarts 2020 in calling for volunteers to join the team. Goal is a white paper on the PH Digital Commerce Framework set to launch in Q1.

During the event, AnyMind and Valens Research were inducted by Perez, and the Membership Committee.
