AdCon announces new guidelines for delegates

PAC Administration Chairman Digna Santos released the following announcement, concerning program, registration, accommodations, transportation and other matters affected by the transfer of venue to Subic.

The 21st Philippine Advertising Congress goes on as scheduled from November 18 to 21, and will now be in Subic.  The Administration Committee of the AdCon has issued the information below for the guidance of delegates.

As you may know by now, the 21st Philippine Advertising Congress will push through on November 18 – 21, 2009 (original dates) but this the venue has been moved to Subic instead of Baguio City. This was contained in the message of ADBOARD Chairman and PANA President Ms. Charmaine Canillas which was emailed to you yesterday. Key excerpts from the announcement are as follows:

"In the aftermath of Ondoy and Pepeng, the 21st PAC is the best time for the industry to come together and reflect on ways to be of service to the typhoon victims and to nation rebuilding. We must take part in helping drive the local economy back on its feet.   

The 21st PAC is encouraging the whole industry to join our renewed purpose of service to those in need the most. Part of our proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross for rehabilitation efforts in Northern Luzon. This ad congress is one with a heart and a cause. We enjoin all members of the industry to be an active part of this endeavor."

REGISTRATION:

ACCOMMODATION:
All Subic & Clark hotels have been visited by the Accommodations Committee last week. The committee is currently evaluating available hotels and matching these with the Baguio hotels, while awaiting for the signed confirnation of participation from each of the hotels.

For all registered delegates with confirmed and paid Baguio hotel bookings, you will be receiving a letter from the Accommodations Committee within the next few days requesting for your hotel preference from several hotel options which they have matched with your original Baguio booking. Please respond to this letter within the requested time frame to ensure your new Subic booking.
For those delegates who have not yet made hotel reservations and for those people planning to register as adcon delegates, a list of available Subic/Clark hotels and their respective rates will be available by Wednesday, October 28. Please check the adcon website (www.adcon.com.ph) or call 892-6277, 818-6158 or 817-7724 and ask assistance from any member of the Accommodations Committee.

TRANSPORTATION:
New bus schedules will be shared with/emailed to you by Thursday, October 22, 2009. You may start booking your transport requirements by then.

PROGRAM:
The 21st Philippine Advertising Congress announces a new slant to its current theme.  Branching from "Perspectives: Ano sa Tingin Mo?", a motivated Ad Congress tries new topics relevant to the current conditions. The CSR portion has been expanded to include speakers on global warming and on recovery roadmap. A panel discussion will follow where the end game is to create a communications task force to rally the industry’s sustained support behind relief and recovery efforts as well as educate the public on environmental issues.
