adobo magazine officially launches the adobo Design Awards Asia 2016

MANILA – adobo magazine on Wednesday has officially launched the adobo Design Awards Asia 2016 at the Makati Diamond Residences.

Members of the jury, comic book artist Arnold Arre, Team Manila co-founder Jowee Alviar, Design for Tomorrow creative director Ric Gindap, and art director Patrick Cabral graced the event.

This year, the adobo Design Awards has partnered with D&AD (formerly British Design and Art Direction) — a British educational charity that promotes excellence in design and advertising, with the theme “Designing for a Bold New World.” The partnership aims to further elevate the already exceptional standards of creative excellence that the adobo Design Awards is known for. Since inception of the awards, the competition has grown gaining international entries, raising the bar even higher.

Creative enthusiasts and professionals are also welcome to attend a series of design-related events that will will lead to the culmination of the competition. The adobo Design Series on March 22 will be comprised of short talks led by UK-Based D&AD President and Jury Head, Andy Sandoz. The adobo Masterclass on March 31 will also be led by founder and president of Tenazas Designs, Lucille Tenazas.

The grand awards night will be held on April 8 and will be celebrated along with adobo magazine’s 10th anniversary. About 80 – 100 awards over 20 categories will be given, including 2 Best in Show and other special awards.
