MANILA – Some of the most talented and influential minds in the local advertising and design industries are coming together to judge the 2015 adobo Design Awards (aDA), which will be held on March 27, 2015.
Returning as jury president is New York-based graphic artist and educator Lucille Tenazas. Tenazas is among the most decorated designers from the Philippines,having been awarded the prestigious American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) Medal, as well as the National Design Award in Communiations Design from the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum.
Tenazas will be leading a jury of twelve, which includes top creative leaders in local design: artist Robert Alejandro, Team Manila co-founder Jowee Alviar, Acid House owner and creative director Ivan Despi, graphic designer AJ Dimarucot, B+C Design principal Baby Imperial, Portfolio MNL CEO and co-founder Rina Malonzo, Plus63 Design co-founder Dan Matutina, Flux Design Labs CEO Nico Puertollano, designer and illustrator Lady San Pedro, and Vgrafiks designer Russell Vergara.
They will be joined by ad industry representatives, executive creative directors Andrew Petch of Ace Saatchi & Saatchi and Dave Ferrer of JWT Manila.
Since 2010, the aDA has honored the brightest and best talents in contemporary creativity. For 2015, the ADA is set to surpass last year’s record-breaking edition to highlight the state-of-the-art in print, publishing and advertising.
With the overall theme of ‘Design for the Future’, ADA 2015 is inviting all enthusiasts, practitioners, freelancers and students of design and advertising to submit their entries showcasing their most creatively effective solutions for Philippine social issues.
Categories include Press & Poster, Corporate and Brand Identity, Typography, Outdoor/Ambient, Environmental/Spatial, Product Design, Wearable Design, Production Design, and Photography.
Deadline for submission of entries is on February 27, 2015. The entry fee is at P1,800/ USD 45 per entry for professionals, and P500/ USD 15 per entry for students.
