MANILA — Design constantly evolves as the environment and people also evolve. Because design evolves, designers must also catch up to stay relevant.
The adobo Design Series 2018 puts together some of the biggest names in design in the country and in the region on March 22, 2018 at the Mind Museum. Eric Cruz, ECD of AKQA Shanghai, takes the audience through the evolution of design by telling his own personal journey as he talks about “Re-Thinking Design: I Used To Be A Graphic Designer, Now What Am I?”
In his visit to Manila, Cruz will also sit on the adobo Design Awards Asia jury where he and his fellow judges will evaluate and recognize the best design work across different design disciplines.
Cruz is a multi-award-winning creative leader, director, designer and educator who brings with him over 19 years of industry experience. He is a ‘hybrid creative’ – fusing design, film, moving image, digital media, music, art and technology to bring a unique perspective to storytelling in the connected age. His work has been recognized by Tokyo ADC, Cannes Lions, ADC NY, ONE Show, D&AD, Spikes, AdFest, AdStars, The Webbys, The FWA, CSS Design Awards, and the Japan Media Arts Festival.
He has worked for top brands such as Budweiser, Nike, and Tencent in AKQA Shanghai. He previously worked for Wieden+Kennedy in Tokyo, Portland, and London, Imaginary Forces LA, Razorfish London, and Leo Burnett Malaysia.
