SiINGAPORE– McCann Worldgroup Philippines nabs Gold and Silver Awards at the APAC Effie Awards 2019, emerging as the only Philippine agency to win. The winners were announced at the Awards Gala held on Thursday, April 25 at the Four Seasons Hotel, Singapore and attended by some 200 marketing professionals. 

McCann Worldgroup Philippines was awarded a Gold Effie in the Shopper & eCommerce Marketing category and Silver in the Small Budget Products category for their campaign “Break in Case of Little Emergencies” for KitKat / Nestlé Philippines.

“The best work we do still starts with a powerful truth, told in a unique way that best suits the needs of the business. This case is another product of that mindset,” McCann Worldgroup Philippines’ Chief Creative Officer Joe Dy said. 

Speaking to adobo magazine, he gives the emphasis on creativity and the gravity of the award for the team and the agency. 

“We’ve always believed that applied creativity gets the best results which is why wins at the Effies are especially gratifying for the team.”

Commenting on the win, Nestle Philippines Business Executive Officer for Confectioneries Gerard Poa, said, “We are greatly honored to be recognized by the Effies and even prouder to be the only entry from the Philippines to win in several categories.”

“By placing the consumer at the heart of this campaign, we were to establish relevance and reignite the Kitkat business,” he continued.

McCann was also ranked as the #1 Network for Creative Effectiveness in APAC in the global Effie Index. Making them the #1 Network in the world for the 2nd year running.

The APAC Effie is known for celebrating and honouring marketing effectiveness excellence in the Asia Pacific region.
