Publicis Groupe Japan’s Erick Rosa, photographer Iris Fuzaro explore time in new Shibuya exhibition

TOKYO, JAPAN — A striking new photography exhibition titled 7 Days & 7 Years opens today at Oak Cube Gallery in Shibuya, offering visitors two contrasting visual journeys through Japan: one spanning just a week, the other unfolding over seven years.

The exhibition features the works of Erick Rosa, Chief Creative Officer at Publicis Groupe Japan, and Iris Fuzaro, a Brazilian filmmaker and photographer based in Los Angeles. Together, their images explore how time – fleeting or enduring, influences the way we see and preserve the world around us.

Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Rosa has quietly chronicled his life in Tokyo since arriving seven years ago, photographing daily with a pocket digital camera. His archive of thousands of frames captures both the quiet and the rhythm of the city, an intimate portrait of Tokyo’s evolving landscape.

In contrast, Fuzaro’s contribution stems from a condensed seven-day photographic journey across Japan, shot entirely on film. Her work reflects the tension between immediacy and patience, offering a slower, tactile lens that stands in dialogue with Rosa’s expansive digital archive.

Commenting on the inspiration for the exhibition, Publicis Groupe Japan Chief Creative Officer Erick Rosa says: “This city is [so] so kind and photogenic. The more you roam its streets, the more in love you fall. Every second feels like a privilege. So, after 7 years, this is my way of showing appreciation. What a pleasure it is to share this with Iris and Lucas.”

Fuzaro, who is based in LA, adds: “I loved the idea of capturing Japan in 7 days with the immediacy that time imposes, but with the patience and surprise that film photography demands; and contrasting these images with Erick’s, who has been documenting his daily routine over the past 7 years with all the time in the world, with the thousands of frames and instant gratification his digital camera allows.”

The experience is accompanied by an original sound installation from Emmy Award-winning and Grammy-nominated Brazilian music producer Lucas Mayer, whose sonic landscape bridges the two visual narratives.

The exhibition can be found at Oak Cube Gallery, Shibuya, Tokyo. October 3–12, 2025. Find out more about the exhibition here, more about Rosa’s work here, and Fuzaro’s work here.
