Bacardi unveils new bottle to reflect its untamable heritage

by Jane Ellen Antonio

MANILA – In the past 150 years, Bacardi has been known for its legacy of relentless passion and exquisite craftsmanship which has inspired and revolutionized the spirits industry. With the world constantly changing, it was able to evolve and adapt, while still remaining true to its roots.

To keep up with the times, Bacardi is launching a new bottle design that perfectly reflects what they are most known for in the past 150 years, which is the untamable heritage in the alcohol industry and its willingness to deepen its affinity with its customers who care as much about the packaging as the brand. The new design is a combination of the old and the new–elements that have defined Bacardi over the past century, and elements that today’s consumers could relate to.

The new bottle features the style of Bacardi’s old logo with an older and more traditional design of the bat, which has graced Bacardi bottles since 1862. It also features new hand cut fonts inspired by art deco from the old office, family history and an image of Bacardi Founder Don Facundo Bacardí Massó. The bottles’ new look is furnished with the Royal Spanish Coat of Arms decoration with a selection of medals–Bacardi’s badges as the world’s most awarded rum since 1862.

The bottle design may be new, but the same old expertly crafted rum using original family recipes which have been passed on from generation to generation hasn’t changed.

“The new bottle reflects the dynamism of Bacardi, and its passion to evolve along with the tastes and needs of its consumers. We want to excite them with the functionality of this new bottle, while letting them revel in the proud heritage of the brand,” said Bacardi Philippines Brand Manager Celine Louis.
