Big Changes: FCB Manila welcomes Jake Tesoro as Executive Creative Director

MANILA – FCB Manila has announced Jake Tesoro as its new Executive Creative Director. The award-winning creative brings with him over 2 decades of experience from Saatchi & Saatchi, TBWA/SMP, Lowe Lintas (Shanghai), and J. Walter Thompson.

As FCB Manila’s corporate mantra goes, it’s all about change, even for Jake: “Moving to a new agency, in a new role… this really excites me. This is the time I very much appreciate all the agencies and clients I’ve previously worked with, as a lot of what I know now are the things I’ve learned from working with them.”

He continues, “I also appreciate the trust given to me by Arnold Liong and Ellen Samano, to let me help come up with creative solutions for the FCB Manila clients. I’ll be glad to do so in a way I know how.”

Over the years, Jake has lent his creativity to major brands such as KFC, Boysen Paints, Nissan Motors, Del Monte, Champion Detergent, Ayala Malls, Oishi, Resorts World Manila, Samsung, Mister Donut, Meralco, Safeguard Soap, Motilium, Ivory Shampoo, Mead Johnson, Head & Shoulders Shampoo, SM Malls, Johnson’s Baby, Penshoppe, Hapee Toothpaste, Alaska Milk, Argentina Canned Goods, Gilbey’s Gin, Petron, and more.

As Chairman of the Creative Guild of the Philippines (2015-2016), he has judged at various local and international advertising award shows such as the ADFEST, New York Fest, 4As AOY, Kidlat and Golden Dove Awards.

Jake’s appointment is the latest in a series of moves FCB has purposefully made to expand its horizons and offer its clients a more diverse set of talents and creative resources. In the past year, the agency has grown its client roster in a wide variety of industries and such development requires a great deal of strategic and creative leadership. The agency’s new acquisitions include clients such as Asia Brewery Inc. for Cobra and Barista’s Best Coffee, Andy Player Whisky and Andy Cola, PhilAm Asset Management Incorporated (PAMI), and Dole regional accounts.

Earlier this year, two new faces were also welcomed into the FCB family: Shai Avecilla-Riofrio (of Publicis Jimenez-Basic) as Business Unit Director and Michelle Marchadesch-Roxas (of Publicis Manila) as Creative Director. With a wealth of experience working on telco, pharma and FMCG brands, Shai and Michelle bring a fresh perspective to the agency.

FCB Manila General Manager Ellen Samano sums it up: “The last year has witnessed how FCB Manila made moves and turns to effect change and fulfill our commitment to our clients and our people.

Jake Tesoro’s joining the agency is probably one of the biggest, if not the biggest change we’re bringing in to our organization. I’m quite excited and looking forward to what we can do together in growing our clients’ business and attracting more brands to work with us. His brand of creative leadership is something to watch out for.”
With inspiring new creative leadership, the energy of new people on the team, and a spectrum of brands to work on, it’s an exciting time for FCB Manila as it looks forward to even more productive and progressive years ahead.
