Cannes Lions introduces Innovation Lions

GLOBAL – FRANCE, MARCH 15, 2013 – To mark its 60th year of celebrating worldwide creativity, Cannes Lions launches a new entry section, the Innovation Lions, which celebrates technologies and innovations that could help drive communications forward.

 
Sitting on the jury head chair is Droga5 founder and creative chairman David Droga. The Innovation Lions will honor more than a campaign or communications idea which could be SaaS (software as a service), a new mobile platform, or a revolutionary piece of software that enables a new kind of customer engagement. 
 
Lions will be awarded to campaigns (but not limited to) the most innovative platforms, apps, tools, programs, hardware, products and radical software which allow brands and creatives to communicate with their customers in a new way, or which stand alone as significant innovations in their own right.
 
And to mark the new category, the organizers are giving all Cannes Lions delegates the chance to get inside the judging process and uncover the most innovative new ideas.
