Carlo Ople leaves Dentsu Jayme Syfu, moves to PLDT as VP

MANILA – After 4 years in Dentsu Jayme Syfu, veteran digital marketing executive, Carlo Ople is moving to PLDT as Vice President, Digital Marketing Strategy for PLDT Enterprise and International Carrier Business (EICB).

Ople was the Managing Director and Partner for DM9JaymeSyfu Digit before the agency transferred to the Dentsu Aegis Network this year where he was elevated to Chief Digital Officer. During his stint at Dentsu Jayme Syfu, he handled major accounts including Jollibee, Johnson & Johnson, Resorts World Manila, PLDT SME Nation, and Smart Communications to name a few.

Before entering advertising, Ople worked in TV5 as New Media Head, Digital Marketing Manager for the defunct social networking site, Friendster, and as Marketing and Business Development Head in Level-up! Games, Inc.

In 2011, Ople founded Unbox.ph, one of the highest visited tech blogs in the Philippines that boasts of 1,000,000+ unique visitors per month, where he features and reviews the latest gadgets, apps, softwares, and everything that’s new in the tech world.

Under his leadership, Digit won 4As Digital Agency of the Year just after one year of operations in 2013. Shortly after, the agency won Silver at Campaign AOY Awards regional Digital Agency of the Year competition. Some of his works for Digit: Anmum 9-month Date, Google Mo Lang, and Carefree “Panty Whiners”, have been recognized across awards shows in the Philippines and in Asia.

Jayme confirmed that someone has already been appointed to take Ople’s place which the agency will announce along with other big plans in the coming days.
