BANGKOK, THAILAND – To celebrate International Fried Chicken Day on July 6, 2025, KFC Thailand hatched a campaign that sent fans flocking to stores and lighting up social media. Dubbed “Release a Chicken, Get Free Chicken,” the playful campaign encouraged Thais to embrace their creativity by bringing along their own interpretation of a “chicken” – be it plush toys, quirky costumes, or even wordplay references to receive a complimentary Hot & Spicy fried chicken piece.
The response was immediate and explosive. From chicken-patterned rice sacks to alphabet-themed props, chicken dolls, and even humorous cosplay, KFC outlets transformed into festive arenas of clucking fun. Within 24 hours, the campaign amassed over 1 million reach and more than 15,000 interactions, cementing its status as a viral phenomenon.

The activity was hosted across select KFC branches including Central Westgate, Central Phitsanulok, and Robinson Lifestyle Prachinburi, where customers who purchased any chicken menu item (with no minimum spend) and brought their own ‘chicken’ item could instantly redeem a free Hot & Spicy chicken piece – limited to the first 200 customers per store.

Suhayl Limbada, Market Lead & Chief Marketing Officer KFC Thailand, said that “The ‘Release a Chicken, Get Free Chicken’ activity on this year’s Fried Chicken Day received an overwhelmingly enthusiastic response beyond our expectations. We are delighted to see fans unleash their inner chicken spirit in creative ways.
“These moments of joy confirm that Thai people truly possess unique creative energy and a distinctive sense of fun. KFC would like to thank everyone who joined us in bringing color to this special day. It was truly a day of happiness, laughter, and wonderful moments where everyone came together to enjoy themselves like true fried chicken lovers. We believe that happiness begins simply by sharing chicken and smiles with one another.”
The campaign was rooted in a deep seated local insight: Thai consumers thrive on opportunities for playful participation, especially when it involves their favorite brands. KFC’s activation provided that perfect space – transforming a global celebration into a hyperlocal, culturally resonant experience.

Through hashtags like #KFC, #เคเอฟซี, #KFCปล่อยไก่ปั๊บรับไก่ฟรี, #วันไก่ทอดโลก, and #InternationalFriedChickenDay, fans proudly shared their chicken-themed antics, making the campaign a trending topic nationwide.
For KFC Thailand, the message is clear: fried chicken is more than a meal – it’s a shared cultural moment.
