Diligent RAW SCHOOL students will now have a reward. Principal Third
Domingo has announced that RAW SCHOOL’s valedictorian and salutatorian
will be automatically entered in the Young Creatives competition of
the Creative Guild KIDLAT! Awards in March.
(What’s that in pesos and cents?) It means you need to find plane fare
and a room, but your P7,000 registration fee is FREE. That entitles
you to Droga, Sagmeister and 72+ hours of All Creative, All the Time
— plus the chance to compete with the world’s best, either at the
Cannes Young Lions or ADFEST in Pattaya.)
But before topping Kidlat! Young Creatives, you have to top RAW
SCHOOL. According to Domingo, the main criterion is consistency in
being named ‘Ad of the Day’ by the judges at each session.
Winners will be announced at the ‘Pirate Me!’ Graduation Party, on
Feb. 5. With the RAW SCHOOL semester almost over, there are already
clear frontrunners. But if you’re a classic creative procrastinator
who plans to win from behind, you’ve still got five sessions left
(including the rescheduled Dave Ferrer talk) to tilt the balance.
