Viva Vietnam! Far from colorless, Grey Group Vietnam has won a number of exciting new accounts, including coveted big names Samsung Mobile, Bayer AG, Carlsberg and Great Eastern Life, and local brands Vinaphone and Hanoimilk.
Winning the Samsung Touch Mobile is a pioneer feat, becoming the first external agency to be awarded the business. Pitching against Ogilvy, the agency won the entire Bayer AG’s Bayer Pharmaceutical Rx account, as well as the entire Vinaphone business. Other contenders for Vinaphone included JWT, Lowe and TBWA. Grey Group Vietnam also won the entire business of Great Eastern Life, the biggest life insurer in Malaysia and Singapore, on a four-way pitch that included TBWA and Burnett.
It is apparent the agency is on a roll. In the recent Cannes Lions International Advertising Awards, Grey Group Vietnam was the only Vietnam agency to be shortlisted for its World Bank “Handwashing with Soap” campaign.
Barely two years since its launch in 2007, it scored its first major account in 2008 after winning the entire British American Tobacco Business, an account Ogilvy held for 10 years.
