IBPAP’s commitment to nation building recognized at the 16th Philippine Quill Awards

PASAY – Coming from the huge success of the 9th International IT-BPM Summit (IIS) where the new country brand was launched last November 2017, the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) was recognized at the 16th Philippine Quill Awards.

IBPAP took home two Quill Awards on the night – the Communication Management Quill for Excellence for its successful rollout of the International IT-BPM Summit and the Philippine Quill for Merit for the Country Brand Audit.

These awards are a testament to IBPAP’s role in championing the IT-BPM industry and its commitment to its stakeholders. Catherine Salceda Ileto, IBPAP Vice Chairman of the Board, and Head for the Technical Working Group on Country Competitiveness which oversees two of the programs that received the prestigious Quill, says, “As Conference Chair of the International IT BPM Summit (IIS), I am grateful that the conference fully organized and presented by the IBPAP was honored as a communications platform that creates positive change.”

The IIS is the single largest global industry event of the IBPAP, which has served as an effective platform for the Philippine IT-BPM industry to engage its key players, and enablers responsible for sustaining the growth of the sector the last decade. Leveraging on the hotly contested topic of Artificial Intelligence which grabbed countless headlines in the past year, the IIS campaign entitled PH DNA: Human Tech served not just to engage the industry stakeholders but also to educate the general public on the value of the IT-BPM industry to the country. “The 9th IIS is quite different from the past summits as it served as launchpad for us to introduce the new Philippine IT-BPM country brand entitled The Philippines: Innovative Human + Tech. This recognizes what truly sets us apart from other markets – the Filipino talent.  It is through our creative, emotive and tech-savvy workforce that we, as an industry, are able to continue to grow and enjoy our success leveraging the emergence of advanced and disruptive technologies,” Ileto shared.

Meanwhile, the Country Brand Audit, conducted by IBPAP’s technical working group (TWG) on Country Competitiveness, served as the foundation of the new Country Brand and Narrative which aims to solidify the Philippines as the leader in the global IT-BPM market, both in terms of foreign investments and the diversity of services it offers. “I am deeply honored on behalf of the industry, that our extensive country brand audit which was the focal point of the conference was also recognized for a Quill. It just demonstrates the synergy and cohesiveness of our efforts. The country brand audit was made possible through the partnership of our TWG members, which includes stakeholders from government and private sector,” Ileto said.

The IBPAP, together with its subsectors and allied partners, are working hand in hand to continuously elevate the Philippine IT-BPM industry. The culmination of all of these efforts is happening on November 5, 12 and 13, 2018 as the industry comes together for the very first International Innovation Summit 2018. IIS 2018 kicks-off with It Starts Here: An Industry Awareness Fair on November 5 at SMX Aura where IBPAP will educate over 2,000 students, parents and prospective employees on the different exciting career opportunities that the industry offers. It will be followed by a two-day summit on November 12 at the Shangri-la Fort where over 600 attendees will tackle key issues, trends and best practices that will drive growth of the industry.
