What do Jollibee, Pond’s and a flash flood charity in Cagayan de Oro city have in common? All are winners in the 1st DigitalFilipino Social Networking Awards 2009, announced during the 2nd Social Networking and e-Business Conference 2009 last April 23- 24.
Launched in January 2009, and open to Filipino social networking campaigns that ran from April 1, 2008 to March 15, 2009, the awards’ first batch of winners included big-name brands and micro-sites in six of its nine categories. Brand managers and agency representatives were present to receive their awards. The 2009 winners are:
* Social Network – Jollibee Sulit Sarap Challenge (Jollibee Foods Corporation)
* Photo Sharing – myPond’s 7 Days Beauty Blog (Unilever Philippines)
*Video Sharing – Clean & Clear My Beautiful Ride Video Contest (Johnson & Johnson Philippines)
* Micro-blogs – $3 for Cagayan de Oro City, PH Flash Flood (CDOBloggers.com)
* Blogs – Fully Booked Bloggers Event (Fully Booked)
* Search engine marketing – Busby SEO Test (Francis Gary F. Viray)

Categories with no winners this year are: Widgets and Add-ons; Social News, Bookmarks, Media Voting; and Social Shopping. Entries were judged equally on Design, Creativity, Copywriting and Impact.
Voted on by a group of bloggers and internet experts, the Digital Filipino Awards is the latest effort to champion efforts and results online. Digital Filipino founder Janette Toral says of her brainchild, “It’s the Awards created to honor Filipino excellence in social networking and advertising. We hope that by sharing the awards with you, you’ll be encouraged to join or participate next year and compete in the awards.”
