Jim Aitchison’s books provide a step-by-step guide to creating the world’s best ads, as told by the industry’s legends and gurus themselves. The series include Cutting Edge Radio, Cutting Edge Advertising, and for the first time, we’re selling Cutting Edge Commercials as well.

Collected and edited by Aitchison, an award-winning creative director in his own right—and one of the best Chinese-language copywriters, according to Neil French—his anthologies are fast-becoming widely accepted textbooks in marketing and ad schools around the world.

Amazon editors say, “Dozens of new cutting edge print advertisements have been included from the US, UK, Australia and Asia. But that’s not all. For the first time, readers will get to see the latest work from the Philippines, South Africa, China and Eastern Europe. The ads are bigger, clearer and bolder. Virtually every ad is shown on a page of its own, making the text easier to read. In addition, new creative voices have been added to the main text. No other advertising reference book offers so much colour, new classic ads, coupled with a stellar cast of creative giants, giving page-by-page advice.”

Sagmeister:
Made You Look

Design legend Stefan Sagmeister (and adobo magazine’s Sept-Oct 2009 cover) turns his  life lessons into 15 typographic experiments, each presented in a booklet. The set, entitled Things I Have Learned in My Life So Far was an Amazon book of the month, and a collectible for any true design enthusiast.

Amazon describes his first book Sagmeister: Made You Look  as one of the most moving books about design. “…a conversation between Peter Hall’s text and Sagmeister’s handwritten commentary, a perfect and believable device for an absorbing dialogue. Self-indulgent as Made You Look may be, Sagmeister lays himself open with idealism, irony, and humor.”
