MANILA – Onel Querijero has been appointed as the new General Manager of Vizeum Philippines starting March 13, 2018 taking over from Oyie Pingol, who will move into another leadership role in the Dentsu Aegis Network PH.
Onel’s appointment is part of the current effort of the network to embark on aggressive plans to intensify its capabilities and services to better serve its valued clients.
Onel has a proven track record that validates his stature as a key trailblazer in the Philippine media industry. His extensive experience of managing complex fast-moving consumer group (FMCG) products and categories in the past 20+ years includes Pepsico, Kraft (now Mondelez), Shell Philippines, SC Johnson, Sara Lee, Pizza Hut, Nike, HSBC, Glaxo Smith Kline, PT Kalbe, Ajinomoto Philippines and lately Emperador Distillers Inc., Liwayway Marketing Corporation, Yakult Philippines, Avon Philippines, East West Bank, Unilab and among many others, has earned him a revered position in the fast-evolving media landscape.
Onel has worked with Starcom Mediavest Group as over-all lead in managing one of its three business units, Liquid Thread, in 2016 and 2017; as Group Trading Director in-charged of identifying the best business and media opportunities for SMG clients from 2013 to 2015; Maxus as its General Manager, where he provided over-all supervision and management from 2008 to 2012; MindShare Philippines as Media Director and Dentsu, Young and Rubicam –Alcantara Brand Communications where he started as a Media Manager Trainee to becoming an Associate Media Director.
An active industry leader, Onel helped the Media Specialists Association of the Philippines (MSAP) launch the first-ever Media ICE awards, which recognized the best ideas from media agencies, and was the ICE Awards co-chair during the 2017 Baguio Media Congress. He has also served as a judge in the Ad Foundation’s Araw Values Awards, and the 4As’ Agency of the Year awards.
