PMA searches for new Agora Champions

Finding individuals worthy of an Agora Award is a lot like searching < width="318" height="224" align="left" src=" pma. " alt="" />fresh truffles. It’s hard; you may lose you way, but in the end, the result is always rewarding.

Once again, the country witnesses a new roster of marketing achievers ascending to legend status as PMA calls for nominations to the 28th Agora Awards this November.

Agora Awards is the oldest non-profit award-giving body for Marketing in the Philippines. Established in 1979 to uplift marketing as a profession of excellence, it is now regarded as the most prestigious and coveted recognition a marketing professional can achieve—especially since an individual can only receive once in his life.

“Agora awardees are the Filipinos’ front-liners to the world market,” Erly de Guzman, PMA’s director for Agora Awards, said. “Their achievements greatly mirror the kind of people that we have here in the country.”

In 2006, the awardees were Butch Jimenez of the Philippine Long Distance Company for outstanding achievement in marketing management; United Laboratories Inc. for Outstanding Achievement in Export Marketing; Mariano S. Manas Jr., owner and franchiser of Hen Lin, for outstanding achievement in large scale entrepreneurship; Prof. Freddie Serapio for marketing education; Butch Albarracin, founder of the Pioneering Center for Pop Music Philippines, for outstanding achievement in medium-scale entrepreneurship; Pinky David, regional licensing director of Discovery Networks in Singapore for marketing excellence; and Philippine Star as marketing company of the year.
