For nearly two decades the United Nations Department of Public Information has awarded the best in advertising in-line with the ideals of the United Nations. The entries undergo judging by a UN Jury.
The 2009 UNDPI Advertising Award Gold winner is “Tree People”/Genesis Energy by Lowe Sydney under the Environmental Issues category. “GCFD Integrated”/Greater Chicago Food Depository by Leo Burnett and “Will”/Portuguese League Against AIDS by McCann Erickson win Silver and Bronze, respectively, both under the Civic/Social Education category.
Asia-Pacific entries bag three Finalist merits that include “Shan Shui”/CEPF by JWT Shanghai under Environmental Issues; “Listen”/Korea Heart Federation by Cretivia under Healthcare; and “Different Lives’/MTV EXIT Foundation by Colman Rasic Carrasco (NSW Australia) under Promotion of Peace/Human Rights category. The CEPF campaign recently won Silver at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival 2009.
